Biology team presents project to President Peterson

On the evening of March 9, 2011, as a prelude to the final decisions for InVenture (http://inventureprize.gatech.edu/competition ), our School of Biology interdisciplinary team presented their work to President and Mrs. Peterson (right and left in photo) and to many recently accepted high school students and their parents attending this event.

Our team is comprised of Michael Delvin (BIO), Azam Siddiqui (BIO), Dave Bhaumik (BME), and David Zhu (BIO), shown here to left of President Peterson. They are working on their project, entitled: Physarum polycephalum as an Instrument for Urban Remodeling. Also pictured is Liam Rattray, senior in public policy working with us at the Center for Biologically Inspired Design (www.cbid.gatech.edu) on an Integrated Living Systems project in urban agriculture. It was an exciting event featuring innovative designs by creative and ingenious Georgia Tech undergraduates. The Biology team was sponsored by Dr. Jeannette Yen (Professor, School of Biology) and the Center for Biologically Inspired Design.
