Two School of Biology graduate students, Andrey Kislyuk and Nicole Mazouchova, received awards at the recent Georgia Tech Research and Innovation Conference (GTRIC 2010). Nicole received a $5000 fellowship for her poster "Utilization of granular solidification during terrestrial locomotion of hatchling sea turtles" advised by Dan Goldman (Physics). Andrey received a $2000 travel grant for his poster "Unsupervised statistical clustering of environmental shotgun sequences" advised by Joshua Weitz (Biology). A total of 5 fellowships and 20 travel grants were awarded of the approximately 300 posters in the competition.
