He will provide an overview of the \u003Ca title=\u0022U.S. Poultry \u0026amp; Egg Association\u0022 href=\u0022http:\/\/www.uspoultry.org\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EU.S. Poultry \u0026amp; Egg Association\u003C\/a\u003E and the \u003Ca title=\u0022Harold E. Ford Foundation\u0022 href=\u0022http:\/\/www.poultryfoundation.org\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EHarold E. Ford Foundation\u003C\/a\u003E, and discuss the research mission and activities supported by the foundation.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAfter funding more than $22 million in research during the past \ndecades, the Association is prepping a campaign to grow its endowment \nand further its research impact. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDr. John Glisson\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe U.S. Poultry \u0026amp; Egg Harold E. Ford Foundation announced the \nappointment of Glisson as director of its research program following the\n retirement of Dr. Henry Marks. Glisson will administer the \nassociation\u0027s comprehensive research program that encompasses all \ncomponents of poultry and egg production and processing. He will work \nwith the foundation\u0027s Research Advisory Committee, receiving and \nevaluating research proposals, and making recommendations to the board \nof directors for funding approval.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EGlisson recently retired as head of the Department of Population \nHealth at the University of Georgia, was head of the Department of Avian\n Medicine, and was associate dean of Public Service and Outreach at the \nUniversity of Georgia\u0027s College of Veterinary Medicine.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EHe is past president of the American Association of Avian \nPathologists has has received numerous honors for his work.
