  <title><![CDATA[Bogost on the Evolution of the Videogame Artist]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>"In videogames, it's far less common to see a creator's work evolve in this way," writes <strong>Ian Bogost</strong>, Professor in the School of Literature, Communication, and Culture and Director of the Graduate Program in Digital Media. Bogost, comparing the aesthetic evolution of videogame artists and artists of traditional media like painting and film, continues, "In part, this is because game makers tend to have less longevity than other sorts of artists. In part, it's because games are more highly industrialized even than film, and aesthetic headway is often curtailed by commercial necessity.
