The vaccine is currently delivered using syringe injection, which has several disadvantages. We propose the use of a microneedle patch to address some of these limitations. Our results provide proof of concept to show that measles vaccine can be stabilized on microneedles and that, after intradermal vaccination, the vaccine can produce an in vivo immune response.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EClaire Segar - Advisor, Edward Botchwey, PhD\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u0022Local Drug Delivery Enhances Mandibular Defect Repair\u0022\u003C\/em\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003EBone regeneration after trauma or disease is a challenge frequently faced by reconstructive surgeons. FTY720, an S1P receptor agonist, has been found to promote neovascularization and osseous tissue in-growth in rat cranial and long bone critical sized defects. In this study, we show that bone regeneration in a mandibular defect can be improved by treatment of FTY720 loaded nanofibers due to enhanced vascularization and local immune modulation.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe Graduate and Post-Doc (GaP) Seminar Series is a weekly event of research presentations by two graduate students or post-docs conducting bio-related research. \u0026nbsp;The series is organized and sponsored by the Parker H.
