Dr. Wade has more than 20 years of experience with DIII-D, the last seven with General Atomics as the program’s Director of Experimental Science Division.  He assumed his new position on March 12, 2012.

Dr. Wade’s experience includes award-winning research collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory. While acting as the Senior Research Scientist at Oak Ridge, he provided the Woodruff School with a testimonial, in which he recalled how a book on fusion energy written by Dr. Weston Stacey inspired him to come to Georgia Tech in pursuit of his graduate degree.

Dr. Wade is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, and is well respected in the international fusion community.
