Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE), was named a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) during the 2012 IIE Honors & Awards Banquet on May 21. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding leaders in the industrial engineering profession who have made significant contributions to the field.

Goldsman's research interests include computer simulation with emphasis on statistical output analysis, applied probability and statistics, ranking and selection, and the application of these areas in industrial engineering.  Goldsman received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics/physics in 1978, and his master’s in mathematics and computer and information science in 1980 from Syracuse University.  He received his PhD in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University in 1984.

IIE is the world’s largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity. Founded in 1948, IIE is an international, nonprofit association that provides leadership for the application, education, training, research, and development of industrial engineering.
