Georgia Tech will host nearly 800 of the world’s top experts in the field of conducting and semiconducting organic materials July 8-13 in Atlanta. The International Conference on Science and Technology of Synthetic Metals (ICSM) 2012 will be held at the downtown Hyatt Regency. Regents’ Professors of Chemistry and Biochemistry Jean-Luc Bredas and Seth Marder are serving as the event’s lead organizers.
ICSM started in the mid-1970s with the advent of synthetic metals. It’s now the premier venue for discussion of the latest developments in the areas of organic electronics and photonics.
This is the first time Georgia Tech has hosted the biennial event, which returns to the United States for the first time since 1996. Experts from more than 40 countries will attend. Georgia Tech Regents’ Professor of Physics Walt de Heer, a leader in graphene research, is among the Plenary Lecturers.
