He was born in Turkey, raised in Germany, and studied architecture at the Hochschule der K\u00fcnste in Berlin, the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in D\u00fcsseldorf, and received his Master of Architectural Design degree with Distinction at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E His research and design work has been exhibited at several institutions including the Royal Academy of Arts in London and has been featured in international publications. In 2006, he was nominated for the Young Architect of the Year Award in the UK in recognition of exceptional contributions to the progress of architecture. Volkan Alkanoglu has collaborated as a Designer and Architect in several architectural practices in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the USA. During his tenure as a Project Director and Project Architect, he worked on many award winning projects with highly acclaimed international status. \u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E He is currently serving on the design and visual studies faculty at\u0026nbsp; the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc)\u0026nbsp; in Los Angeles, California.
