We are engineering polymeric coatings for neural electrodes to reduce inflammation in the surrounding tissue environment. Testing includes both in vitro and in vivo components to observe the effect of these coatings on the tissue response to chronically implanted electrodes.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ESong Seto - Advisor, Johnna Temenoff, PhD\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0022Cathepsin Activity During Tendon Overuse in a Rat Model\u0022\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003EIn order to design appropriate treatments for rotator cuff tendinopathy, cell-mediated events that occur during tissue degeneration need to be studied. Using a rat running model of tendon overuse, we studied cathepsin activity using multiplex zymography during 8 weeks of overuse activity.
