A new campus initiative, GT Journey, hopes to curate campus applications, content, student research and immersive experiences\u0026nbsp;for and by the Georgia Tech community.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Institute for People and Technology (IPaT) and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) launched the three-year initiative to develop a platform for creating and sharing apps, augmented reality experiences and other technological solutions.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cWe view this as a living laboratory for inventing the future of the university,\u201d said\u0026nbsp;Beth Mynatt, director of IPaT.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDuring its first year, GT Journey will launch a student activity center for location-based apps and data services. The GT Journey support team will provide development tools and data, such as \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/gtmob.gatech.edu\/drupal\/node\u0022\u003EGTmob\u003C\/a\u003E and \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/argon.gatech.edu\u0022\u003EArgon\u003C\/a\u003E, and a physical App Lab where students of all majors and levels of expertise can work and collaborate.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn the future, GT Journey will recruit students and alumni to contribute ideas for applications and services. The eventual goal is to develop a thriving online ecosystem of applications, experiences and crowd-sourced content by drawing on the Tech community\u2019s ideas, data and talent.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EFor now, developers can get started by building on \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/gtmob.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EGTmob\u003C\/a\u003E, and even nondevelopers can\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/gtjourney.gatech.edu\/mobile\/tour\u0022\u003Econtribute content to augmented reality campus tours\u003C\/a\u003E and \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/gtjourney.gatech.edu\/?q=Campuspartners\/ideas\u0022\u003Esubmit ideas\u003C\/a\u003E to GT Journey.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EFurther opportunity exists for students to promote their creations in next month\u2019s \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/cic.gatech.edu\/drupal\/\u0022\u003EConvergence Innovation Competition\u003C\/a\u003E (CIC).
