His research creates computational interfaces and agents for use in everyday mobile environments. He is known to combine wearable and ubiquitous computing technologies with techniques from the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), pattern recognition, and human computer interaction (HCI).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p1\u0022\u003EFrom designing assistive technology with the deaf community to his main project \u0026nbsp;CopyCat , a game which uses American Sign Language recognition to help young deaf children acquire language skills, he continually develops new interfaces for mobile computing (and mobile phones) with an emphasis on gesture.
