MCRP Reaccredited for full 7-year Term

The Planning Accreditation Board has re-accredited Georgia Tech’s Master of City and Regional Planning degree program for a seven-year term through 2019. PAB Chair Ike Heard’s letter states, “As the program has an exemplary record, the accreditation period granted is the longest term possible under current PAB rules.”

The Board and its site visitors have given us valuable suggestions for enhancements that will strengthen what the site visitors referred to as a “model of a 21st century, top tier, AAU university planning program.” Some of their suggestions are the basis of changes to our school’s Strategic Plan, now in development as well as curricular changes to be implemented this fall. View the recent site visitor’s report.

Georgia Tech’s Master of City Planning program first earned recognition from the National Education Committee of the American Institute of Planners (PAB’s precursor) in September 1969 and was accredited by PAB when that organization began operations in 1984. Recognition/accreditation has been continuous since 1969. Further information about the Planning Accreditation Board is online at: http://www.planningaccreditationboard.org/.

<!-- Disquisition: it's funny how I write these TODOs and then never
revisit them. It's as though the act of writing the thing down frees me
