Alumnus Butler on the Power of Writing

“I didn’t know fiction did those things,” says IAC alumnus and Atlanta author Blake Butler, recalling a David Foster Wallace book he received for Christmas while studying computer science at Georgia Tech. “That was like the high watermark of what I’d found. After I read it, I just started writing voraciously." He also switched his major to "the most liberal arts degree he could find at Tech." Source: Access Atlanta, January 8, 2013
