She joined the CED function in January 2010 and also serves as an expert in her field in the Atlanta Fed\u0027s Americas Center. Her fields of specialization are international economics, trade and finance, open macroeconomics, and economic development. Her current research interests include economic impact of immigration, small business financing, unemployment and underemployment, and the impact of financial architecture on community and economic development. Dr. Quispe-Agnoli is also an occasional contributor to the Atlanta Fed\u0027s \u003Ca href=\u0022macroblog.typepad.com\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003Emacroblog\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E, which provides commentary on economic topics including monetary policy, macroeconomic developments, and the Southeast economy.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Quispe-Agnoli has published her research in various journals, including \u003Cem\u003EJournal of Policy Analysis and Management\u003C\/em\u003E, \u003Cem\u003EJournal of Regional Science\u003C\/em\u003E, and \u003Cem\u003EContemporary Economic Policy\u003C\/em\u003E. Her research has also appeared in several books. She is a member of the American Economic Association, the Southern Economic Association, the Econometric Society, the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession, Latin American and the Caribbean Economic Association, and the American Society of Hispanic Economists.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBefore joining the Atlanta Fed, Dr. Quispe-Agnoli taught at Emory University, Tulane University, the University of North Carolina\u2013Chapel Hill, and the Center for International Development Research at the Terry Stanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University. She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses on Economic Development, International Trade and Finance, and Money, Banking, and Financial Institutions. A native of Lima, Peru, Dr. Quispe-Agnoli earned a bachelor\u0027s degree in social sciences at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She received her Ph.D. in reproductive neuroendocrinology and molecular biology in 2001 from the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto.
