The scope of\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EAutomation in Construction\u003C\/em\u003E\u0026nbsp;is broad, encompassing all stages of the construction life cycle from initial planning and design, through construction of the facility, its operation and maintenance, to the eventual dismantling and recycling of buildings and engineering structures.\u0026nbsp; The journal is supported by \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.ecaade.org\/\u0022\u003EEducation in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe (eCAADe)\u003C\/a\u003E, \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.iaarc.org\/\u0022\u003EInternational Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC)\u003C\/a\u003E, and \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.cibworld.nl\/\u0022\u003EInternational Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (C.I.B.)\u003C\/a\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EDr. Castro-Lacouture\u2019s current research centers on defining and implementing performance evaluation protocols for technology innovation in the built environment, such as sustainable construction materials and alternative sources of energy.\u0026nbsp;He received a BSc in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia, in 1994, an MSc in Construction Management from The University of Reading, UK, in 1999 and a PhD from the School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University in 2003. Professor Castro-Lacouture worked as assistant professor of Construction Engineering and Management at Ohio University from 2003 to 2006.
