  <title><![CDATA[Pearson named AAAS "40 @ 40" Featured Fellow]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p><strong>Willie Pearson</strong>, professor in the <strong>School of History, Technology, and Society</strong>, has been named a featured fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science's (AAAS) celebration of the 40th anniversary of its Science &amp; Technology Policy Fellowship.</p><p>To commemorate 40 years of Science &amp; Technology Policy Fellowships, AAAS launched a 40 @ 40 initiative. Forty former fellows were selected from the more than 2,600 who have received fellowships.</p><p>Pearson was selected as the representative for the class of 1988-89. His biography and a short audio interview will be featured on the AAAS website, and he will be honored at a commemoration event on May 3.</p><p>The Science &amp; Technology Policy Fellowships were created to provide scientists and engineers an opportunity to utilize their scientific knowledge and expertise to inform and support policy-makers.</p>]]></body>
