  <body><![CDATA[<p><em>A Conversation Among Presidents: Compassion in Science and Technology </em>is a panel discussion among the presidents of <a href="http://www.agnesscott.edu">Agnes Scott College</a>, <a href="http://www.emory.edu/home/index.html">Emory University</a>, <a href="http://www.gatech.edu">Georgia Institute of Technology</a>, <a href="http://www.morehouse.edu">Morehouse College</a>, and <a href="http://www.spelman.edu">Spelman College</a>. Plans for this conversation emerged from the awarding of the <a href="http://ivanallenprize.gatech.edu/home/">2012 Ivan Allen Jr. Prize for Social Courage</a> to Dr. William Foege and Georgia Tech’s year-long conversation about science, race and ethics spurred on by <a href="http://enrichment.gatech.edu/firstyear-reading-program/2012">Georgia Tech’s First-Year Reading Program</a> for 2012-2013, <em>The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks</em>.</p><p>The 60-minute conversation will explore the ways that compassion and concern for others has returned as a vital element in the education at colleges and universities.</p><p>A reception with light refreshments will be held immediately following the program.</p><p>Students, faculty, and staff from Agnes Scott College, Emory University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse College, and Spelman College are invited to attend.</p>]]></body>
