  <title><![CDATA[Building Construction Professor Receives National Recognition As Outstanding Researcher]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Georgia Tech School of Building Construction Assistant Professor Dr. Javier Irizarry received the Outstanding&nbsp;Researcher Award from the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) at their&nbsp;49th International Conference in San Luis Obispo, California. The ASC Outstanding&nbsp;Researcher Award is made&nbsp;annually to a faculty member of an ASC member school&nbsp;from the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This award&nbsp;recognizes the faculty&nbsp;member's contribution to the dissemination of scholarly work within the ASC&nbsp;community. Dr. Jay&nbsp;P. Christofferson, President of the Associated Schools of&nbsp;Construction, presented the award.<br />&nbsp;<br />Dr. Irizarry joined the School of Building Construction in&nbsp;2008 and is the Director of the CONECTech Lab at Georgia&nbsp;Institute of&nbsp;Technology. He specializes in Mobile Computing in Construction, Human&nbsp;Factors, Construction Safety, and&nbsp;IT Applications in AEC Education and&nbsp;practice. He teaches graduate-level courses in Virtual Construction&nbsp;Operations&nbsp;Analysis and Sustainable Construction Technologies and serves as the&nbsp;Graduate Coordinator for the Residential&nbsp;Construction Development Track in&nbsp;the master’s program in the School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech.</p>]]></body>
