The Boren Awards Program offers funding to undergraduate and graduate students, studying in Africa, Asia, Central \u0026amp; Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin American, and the Middle East.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBoren Scholars and Fellows represent a variety of academic backgrounds, but all are interested in studying less commonly taught languages, including but not limited to Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili. As part of the African Languages Initiative, Boren Award applicants have the opportunity to further their study of Akan\/Twi, Hausa, Portuguese, Swahili, Wolof, Yoruba, or Zulu.
