With nearly 600 corps members across its programs, M\u0192A was founded in New York City in 2004, and also operates in Berkeley, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Utah and Washington, DC. Serving as models for other teachers, members of the corps not only change the lives of their students each year but also change the teaching profession itself.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;M\u0192A rewards and supports new and experienced teachers and school leaders through fellowship programs.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.mathforamerica.org\/benefits\u0022\u003EThe M\u0192A Fellowship\u003C\/a\u003E is a five-year program where recent college graduates and mid-career professionals make a commitment to teach mathematics in public secondary schools. M\u0192A Fellows are mathematically sophisticated individuals who are new to teaching and use their talents to make a difference in students\u2019 lives. The program includes one year earning a master\u2019s degree in education and four years of teaching math in public secondary schools. The M\u0192A Fellowship provides a full tuition scholarship, stipends of up to $100,000 over five years, in addition to a full time teacher\u2019s salary, and mentoring and professional development opportunities. During the fifth year, Fellows may apply to become Master Teachers.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.mathforamerica.org\/early-career-fellows\u0022\u003EThe M\u0192A Early Career Fellowship\u003C\/a\u003E provides professional support and growth opportunities to current new teachers of secondary mathematics in a New York City public school or recent graduates of education training programs who are certified to teach in New York City and have secured an eligible job.
