This year\u2019s open enrollment period\u2014\u003Cstrong\u003EMonday, November 11 to Friday, November 22\u003C\/strong\u003E\u2014features new vendors and new plan options.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech has worked closely with the Board of Regents to advocate for our employees, and to ensure that 2014\u2019s plans match or exceed our current offerings. Even if you don\u2019t intend to make changes to your plan in 2014, we urge you to re-enroll.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EImportant Changes to Note\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EBeginning in January 2014, all University System of Georgia (USG) institutions will offer the same nonmedical benefits (currently, each institution offers its own selection), including supplemental life insurance, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, and flexible spending and health savings accounts.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EThe Institute will offer other nonmedical benefits not provided by the Board of Regents, including the group legal plan through ARAG, critical illness and permanent whole life plans, and an identity theft protection program.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EWhile premiums won\u2019t increase for USG Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, some co-pays and deductibles will increase as of January 1. The premium for the Kaiser plan will increase by 4.4 percent.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMany plan providers will stay the same (e.g., Delta Dental will continue to provide coverage for all Georgia Tech employees), although plan options may change slightly.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003EOpen enrollment is the time to make thoughtful decisions about your benefits for the coming year. We encourage you to review your current benefits plan, decide which 2014 plan is best for you and your family, and select a plan via TechWorks (techworks.gatech.edu) during the two-week enrollment period.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EFurther details on our 2014 benefit offerings will be mailed to your home in mid-October.
