“In 2013, we had nearly 95 percent of our benefits-eligible population participate by visiting TechWorks to change or confirm their elections,” said Brandon Conkle, director of Total Rewards in the Office of Human Resources. “To have that many people take an active role in participating in the enrollment process is incredible, and it sets the stage for everyone to have a better experience in 2014 because they took the time to look at the offerings and make the choices that best fit them.”

Here are a few other facts about this year’s OE:

• 1,011 calls were received by the helpline during the OE period.
• 330 employees selected smoker status, which is an increase from the 2012 plan enrollment.
• 551 people enrolled in the new ID Theft protection program.

Benefits confirmation statements for OE elections are now available to faculty and staff via TechWorks. After logging in, select Benefits Home in the Employee Self-Service box. Select Print Confirmation Statement, and benefit elections for 2014 will be displayed.

“Cards for medical plans have already started arriving in people’s homes, and cards for the other plans should be coming very shortly,” Conkle said. “So everyone should be on the lookout for them.”
