In addition to poetry classes on campus, the finest names in poetry come to Atlanta from within Georgia, all over the United States, and abroad, reaching well beyond the traditional notion of what a poem is and well beyond the expected audience for poetry.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIvan Allen College at Georgia Tech\u2019s Africa Atlanta Project Reading will feature: Cornelius Eady, Patricia Smith \u0026amp; Kurtis Lamkin.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAfrica Atlanta 2014\u003C\/strong\u003E is a citywide, year-long series of events highlighting Atlanta as a nexus for reinventing the cultural and economic bonds among Africa, Europe, and America. Running from October 2013 through Fall 2014, nearly 50 art exhibitions, performances, cinema, and multi-disciplinary conferences, seminars, and symposia encompass the realms of arts \u0026amp; culture, business \u0026amp; innovation, education, and global affairs. A highlight is \u003Cem\u003EKONGO across the WATERS\u003C\/em\u003E, an exhibition from one of the world\u2019s premier African art collections - the Royal Museum of Central Africa.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAfrica Atlanta 2014\u003C\/strong\u003E is presented by Georgia Tech\u2019s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts with the Consulate General of Belgium and the Africa Atlanta Partners, a collaboration of twenty-five organizations that includes the city\u2019s premier universities, arts and community organizations, business and industry, the City of Atlanta, Fulton County, federal and consular agencies.
