{"278951":{"#nid":"278951","#data":{"type":"news","title":"GT joins the Generation Study Abroad Committment","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech has joined \u003Cem\u003EGeneration Study Abroad\u003C\/em\u003E in making a pledge to increase the number of students who study abroad and have an international experience.\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EGeneration Study Abroad\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/em\u003Eis an initiative from the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.iie.org\u0022\u003EInstitute of International Education\u003C\/a\u003E, asking at least 100 U.S. colleges and universities to make a committment to significantly increasing the participation rate of their students who study abroad at some point during their undergraduate career.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech commits to reaching 60% of undergraduates having an international expereince by graduation, by the year 2020. This will be accomplished primarily by expanding program offerings - international service learning programs, programs in countries where Tech does not currently have options and creating embedded study abroad options.
