Coordinated by the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research, the FSSE is a research study that focuses on faculty perceptions of student learning, academic engagement, the nature and frequency of faculty-student interactions, and the use of effective strategies, collaboration, and diverse perspectives in and out of the classroom.

In keeping with the Georgia Tech strategic plan, overlapping data from the FSSE and the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) will provide the opportunity to explore our current approaches to instructional methods, course design, and curricula. Results will also assist in illuminating student and faculty needs, and areas suitable for instructional and curricular innovation.

The FSSE will be administered beginning on April 2 to a sample of faculty who taught undergraduate students this academic year. If you are among the selected faculty, you will receive an email from the Office of the Provost inviting you to participate in this web-based survey. The Institute will not receive any identifying faculty information from FSSE. The Office of Assessment encourages faculty to complete this survey to contribute to a holistic view of student engagement at Tech.
