Cost-effective whole genome sequencing and comparative genomic analyses of microbes and microbial ecosystems is enabling researchers to understand pathogenesis and disease transmission with unprecedented levels of detail. However, it also presents new challenges and requires new skills and algorithmic approaches as data volumes and complexities continue to grow exponentially.

This four-day workshop is intended to help bridge these skills and domains for a multidisciplinary audience, and will include both lectures and hands-on workshop training in microbiology and molecular epidemiology, bioinformatics, high-performance computing, algorithm development and optimization.
