The Governor\u2019s Cup is awarded annually to the state institution with the highest contribution per employee.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cThe real prize, however, is not the amount of individual contributions, but the difference we make in the community by joining together,\u201d said Georgia Tech President G.P. \u201cBud\u201d Peterson. \u201cThe Governor\u2019s Cup trophy is symbolic of the special spirit of the people of Georgia Tech who are involved in numerous charitable and civic activities in their communities and have a commitment to give back.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech employees gave $327,316 during the 2014 campaign. The Governor\u2019s Cup trophy will live in the Office of the President in the Carnegie Building for most of the year. It returns to the state shortly before the State Charitable Contributions Program awards ceremony each year, when it receives a new plaque to commemorate that year\u2019s winner.
