Sustainable projects emphasize energy and water conservation, but they are also more widely associated with the desire to improve quality of life.\u0026nbsp;In real estate, the push for sustainability is embodied by the U.S. Green Building Council and Energy Star programs. Led by Atlanta-based design firms such as The Epsten Group and schools including Georgia Tech, Atlanta has started to more widely embrace how architecture, land-use policy ands real estate development affect the way people live and work. Other projects reinforced the commitment to transit alternatives.
