{"310831":{"#nid":"310831","#data":{"type":"event","title":"Cultural Transitions and Student Panel","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EIf this is your first time in the United States, or possibly, or your first time outside your home country, come to this session for an introduction to culture and adjustment, tips on how to cope with culture shock, and stories from returning GT international students.\u0026nbsp;Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to a student panel composed of returning international students.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe session will include a fun and informative video about U.S culture and cultural misunderstandings that may arise due to differences in cultural norms around the world. \u201cCultural Transitions\u201d is a 45-minute movie produced by the Office of International Education in association with GA Tech\u2019s Buzz Studios. The film includes live action scenes performed by Georgia Tech students as well as interviews with international students. The scenes and interviews cover a number of topics related to the cultural challenges that international students face when arriving in the United States. The movie also covers the cultural aspects of space, time and appearance and how these concepts vary from one country to another. The purpose of the film is to ease the transition for new international students.
