Li and his coauthors will be presented with this award at the 2014 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference to be held September 14-17 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe title of Li\u2019s award-winning paper is \u201cCognitive Radio Networking and Communications: An Overview,\u201d published in the \u003Cem\u003EIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology\u003C\/em\u003E in September 2011 (vol. 60, no. 7, pp. 3386-3407).\u0026nbsp;The paper addresses the fact that more and more applications, such as smart phones, require high-speed wireless communications while radio spectrum is limited. Cognitive radio (CR) is the enabling technology for supporting dynamic spectrum access and can improve spectrum efficiency.
