{"327821":{"#nid":"327821","#data":{"type":"event","title":"Applied Probability Seminar","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ESpeakers: Sherwin Doroudi and Kristy Gardner\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESherwin and Kristy are two Ph.D. students from Carnegie Mellon University, currently visiting Georgia Tech to do research with Jim Xu in the College of Computing. Sherwin is a fifth year operations management student (at the Tepper School of Business) co-advised by Mor Harchol-Balter and Mustafa Akan, and Kristy is a third year computer science student advised by Mor Harchol-Balter. Their research involves a variety of scheduling and queueing problems (Markov chains, resource allocation, strategic and\/or flexible customers\/servers, etc.), with applications to problems in OR and CS.
