Master\u2019s student\u0026nbsp;James Hallam\u0026nbsp;also won last year in Zurich, Switzerland with wearable gloves for stroke patients.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHallam says his focus is on building technology that can be integrated into smart garments, while still being comfortable and usable. \u0022I want the clothes to be functional \u2013 to help people recover from injuries, and to augment and understand more about what their bodies can do.\u0022\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGoogle Glass technical lead and Professor of Interactive Computing\u0026nbsp;Thad Starner,\u0026nbsp;whose Contextual Computing Group had three accepted\u0026nbsp;papers in the program, attended ISWC after\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/gvu.gatech.edu\/news\/2014-09-09\/starner-showcase-wearable-tech-world-economic-forum\u0022 data-cke-saved-href=\u0022http:\/\/gvu.gatech.edu\/news\/2014-09-09\/starner-showcase-wearable-tech-world-economic-forum\u0022\u003Espeaking at a World Economic Forum meeting\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;in China and showcasing the Georgia Tech-curated\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/wcc.gatech.edu\/exhibition\u0022 data-cke-saved-href=\u0022http:\/\/wcc.gatech.edu\/exhibition\u0022\u003Ewearable computing exhibit\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;there with\u0026nbsp;Clint Zeagler, a research scientist in Industrial Design. The exhibit will make its campus debut this fall at the IPaT Forum on Nov. 11.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMelody Jackson, professor of Interactive Computing, is pushing the boundaries of wearable computing with her group\u2019s\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/aci.gatech.edu\/\u0022 data-cke-saved-href=\u0022http:\/\/aci.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003Eemerging work in animal-computer interaction\u003C\/a\u003E, which Georgia Tech is helping pioneer. Her group\u2019s ISWC poster showed an experimental design for wearable tech usability for canines.
