These technology and economic trends have spurred research, field trials and deployments of mobile Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in support of humanitarian goals such as effective healthcare and meaningful civic engagement.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHHS\u0026nbsp;Center co-director Dr. Pinar Keskinocak will moderate a rountable discussion that will focus on the present and future uses of mobile ICTs in both the developing world and the U.S. as well as the necessary supporting infrastructure in the healthcare and civic engagement domains.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe discussion will\u0026nbsp;bring together experts in communication infrastructure, civic engagement, and health to\u0026nbsp;highlight key lessons learned from past successes and failures, to provide a snapshot of current deployment and practice, and to identify challenges moving forward.
