The Georgia Institute of Technology ranked 5th among U.S. public universities in the 2014-2015 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Tech ranked 1st among public universities in the southeast and 27th overall.
Tech moved up one spot from 28th the previous year.
The Times Higher Education World Rankings claim to judge world-class universities across all of their core missions including teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The rankings employ 13 performance indicators in an attempt to provide a comprehensive comparison.
