      <value><![CDATA[<p>Using optical mapping methods to study voltage and calcium waves in the heart and to develop new anti-arrhythmic treatments</p><p>Voltage and calcium dyes allow visualizing the spatiotemporal electrical activity of the heart both during normal function and arrhythmic states. We will show how experimental data from mammalian hearts along with large scale computer simulations can lead to the understanding of many biophysical mechanism that initiate arrhythmias as well as to design new methods for control and termination of tachycardia and fibrillation.</p>]]></value>
