Official Georgia Tech permits are required for students\u2019 vehicles, including motorcycles or motorized scooters, to be parked on campus.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETo purchase a permit, studets shold log in to The Driver\u2019s Seat at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.driverseat.gatech.edu\u0022\u003Ewww.driverseat.gatech.edu\u003C\/a\u003E with their Georgia Tech username and password. Permits purchased in The Driver\u2019s Seat can be used immediately and can be mailed or picked up in the PTS office. Students may also purchase permits in the PTS office at 828 W. Peachtree St. in Tech Square (they should bring their BuzzCard or license and their vehicle registration). Bill of sale is required for motorcycle\/scooter permit purchases.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EInstead of semester permits, PTS offers annual permits at prorated prices for students purchasing permits for spring 2015. All parking permits fees are transferred to the bursar\u2019s office for payment along with tuition and fees.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAnnual parking permits:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAre valid through August 15, 2015\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAllow parking in an assigned zone at any time (except for special events)\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ECan be used for after-hours parking: Monday through Thursday 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. and from 5 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Monday, excluding E45 and E81 (both must be vacated by 6 a.m.).\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ECan be used in the Campus Recreation Center deck (W10) during after-hours parking times.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn addition, students should take advantage of the following annual parking permit perks:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAlternate parking locations for events and construction\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EEmail, Facebook and Twitter notifications for special events, construction, etc.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EOut-of-zone assignments if lot is full (404-385-PARK)\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMotorist Assistance Program to help with jumpstarts on weekdays (404-385-PARK)\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EThe Driver\u2019s Seat at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.driverseat.gatech.edu\u0022\u003Ewww.driverseat.gatech.edu\u003C\/a\u003E: update vehicle information, submit citation appeals and pay citations , register for annual permit and make renewals for upcoming academic years\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E10 days to appeal any citation online via the student appeals committee\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EPTS also offers specialty permits, including Evening\/Weekend permits, SmartPark, for occasional drivers, motorcycle permits and carpool memberships. The Tech Trolley, Stinger buses and GLC\/Clough Shuttle provide the Institute with reliable transportation within the campus borders and surrounding areas. Also, PTS offers a shuttle to Emory University as well as the Weekend Grocery Shuttle to Atlantic Station for students needing off-campus transportation. Boarding fees and IDs are not required to ride the transit system. Safe Ride Home memberships can be purchased for students who need after-hours rides to the Home Park and Centennial Place communities. It has convenient stops at the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Student Center, and North Avenue Dining Hall, all of which operate late-night hours.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAlternative Transportation\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech encourages students to take a clean commute to campus, including biking, public transit, and carpooling. Bike rentals are available for students on a semester basis through the BuzzBike program. Students who use the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) may purchase unlimited monthly transit passes in Barnes \u0026amp; Noble (at the BuzzCard Center) at discounted rates. Parking is authorized in any handicap space on campus with these credentials.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EStingerette Paratransit Service serves members of the Georgia Tech community who need transportation assistance on campus due to permanent or temporary mobility impairments.
