The work of diverse social groups demonstrate that an issue like climate change is experienced, understood, translated, and discussed differently in varied contexts. \u0026nbsp;This talk will explore what role digital media platforms might play in mediating new and emerging voices, facilitating collaboration, and reconfiguring expertise on issues rooted in environmental concern. This talk will draw on ethnographic work recently published in How Climate Change Comes to Matter (Duke U Press, 2014) as well as research on changing journalistic norms and practices and the role of digital media in multi-vocal, networked social movements.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EABOUT THE SPEAKER:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECandis Callison is an Assistant Professor at University of British Columbia\u0027s Graduate School of Journalism where she conducts research on media, social movements, and science and environment issues.
