395631 event 1428923315 1492118370 <![CDATA[INtroducing Scholastic and Pedagogical Insight Resulting in Engaged Education (INSPIRE2)]]> This one-day workshop, geared towards Georgia Tech STEM graduate students and post-docs with an interest in engineering education, will introduce participants to non-traditional, interactive teaching methods in the classroom. Dr. Damon Williams, adjunct professor of the ISyE department, and Dr. Ruth Poproski, Academic Professional of the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL), both experts in engineering education techniques, will be our keynote speakers. Coffee, lunch, and afternoon snacks will be served during the workshop. There is no registration fee.

During the workshop, participants will:

Learn the necessary components of an effective learning environment
Be introduced to and have interactive discussions about the application of active and collaborative learning techniques
Hear testimony from a variety of Georgia Tech professors who have successfully implemented non-traditional, active, and collaborative learning techniques in their classrooms
Broaden their network of colleagues who are interested in improving STEM education
