Come to our information session to learn everything you ever wanted to know about studying at Georgia Tech’s campus in France from staff, and from students who have already been there. 

During the Diversity Symposium, we hear from diverse perspectives that are committed to making Georgia Tech one of the most highly respected technological research universities and a campus with an increasingly inclusive environment. The morning sessions and awards luncheon will cover the impact of demographic disruptions on higher education in the next 25 years, equity in faculty hiring, manifestations of bias in academic communities, and redefining civil rights in the 21st century. The Diversity Champion Awards and Faces of Inclusive Excellence presentations will occur at the luncheon. During the afternoon sessions, faculty, staff, and students will have an opportunity to discuss how to expand our understanding of diversity. 

On behalf of the Office of the President and Institute Diversity, we invite all members of our campus community to participate and contribute to the Diversity Symposium discussions as we work together to build “One Georgia Tech,” which values and respects every idea and contribution.

This chat will be held from 2:00PM to 3:00PM EST on Wednesday, September 9th. The topic for this chat will be "How to Network at a Career Fair" in prepartion for the GT Career Fair.

Students are required to wear business formal attire to enter the fair. Heels are permitted. Students do not need to register, but need to bring their BuzzCard or GTID number to enter.

The fair is also open to faculty, staff and alumni. Those not affiliated with Georgia Tech are not permitted.  

What to bring:

• Notebook and Pen/Pencil: With over 200 companies in attendance each day, you may need to take notes. 

• Several copies of your resume: Copy machines will not be available for students in the CRC  Make sure to bring enough copies of your resume to leave with recruiters.

• Smartphone: The Georgia Tech Career Fair App lets students see company locations at the fair, a floor plan, event details, announcements, and more. The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

• BuzzCard: You will need this to gain entry to the fair. If you no longer have a buzzcard, your GTID number will suffice.

About PARALLEL LIVES:  One plus one equals comedy gold in the hands of Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy.  Based on their very popular Off-Broadway show, the Kathy and Mo Show, Parallel Lives is a series of duets that take a progressive look at the games men and women play to get through everyday life.

Free food and drinks will be served. Music provided by GA Tech's WREK radio and a photobooth with GT's mascot, Buzz. 

Parents and guests are also invited and encouraged to attend and celebrate their student's entry into Georgia Tech. A special reception for parents and guests will be held immediately before the Convocation ceremony at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center. Immediately Following Convocation

Students will attend a special welcome party sponsored by Auxiliary Services - Rock, Ramble, and Roll - which celebrates their first night as a Georgia Tech college student. Held in the Student Center, students may take a shuttle or walk over after the Convocation ceremony. This is a free event for new students.

Coffee Hours are full of coffee, tea, food, and lots of interesting conversation and fun activities. For the first Coffee Hour of the 2014-2015 academic year, OIE has rented out the entire Tech Rec! Bowling, billiards, video games and air hockey will be free to all students in attendance. 

International Coffee Hour is a monthly event sponsored by OIE and Global Jackets, a multicultural student organization. The August Coffee Hour will be co-sponsored by Georgia Tech International Ambassadors who will be offering karaoke.

For the fourth annual Atlanta Studies Symposium, to be held at Georgia State University on May 11th, 2016, we invite scholars and activists to learn from and act on research about Atlanta’s mobilities, including that of its central city and the broader metropolitan area. We seek panels and paper presentations that address the challenges and opportunities for Atlanta’s past, present, and future mobilities.

We welcome fully-constituted panels of three to five paper presentations, which should include a cover letter indicating the focus of the panel and its participants. We also welcome individual papers or posters for consideration in the symposium. Please submit 250-word abstracts for paper presentations on this form no later than January 31, 2016. The Fourth Annual Atlanta Studies Symposium will feature the inaugural Cliff Kuhn Memorial Keynote, given by Emory University Professor of History Joseph Crespino.

• Students may apply to present either a poster presentation or an oral presentation.

• Only currently-enrolled undergraduate students are allowed to present at the symposium. Graduate students, post-docs, and faculty are not permitted to present and should not be included on the application. 
• Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. The faculty mentor listed on the application must be associated with a school or department at Georgia Tech.
