Georgia Tech has acquired new tags that include\u0026nbsp;RFID\u0026nbsp;technology that will assist in this process.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EQuestions and Answers on\u0026nbsp;RFID\u0026nbsp;and Implementation:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E1.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;What are\u0026nbsp;RFID\u0026nbsp;tags?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAnswer:\u0026nbsp;RFID\u0026nbsp;tags are barcode tags that have a radio frequency identification chip in them that use radio waves to identify an object.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E2.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;What is the benefit of\u0026nbsp;RFID?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAnswer: During the traditional inventory process, a user must \u0022see\u0022 the barcode to read it. Even with a barcode handheld scanner people usually have to have a line of sight to align the barcode towards a scanner for it to be read. \u0026nbsp;Radio frequency identification, by contrast, doesn\u2019t require line of sight.\u0026nbsp;RFID\u0026nbsp;tags can be read as long as they are within range of a reader. With the use of an\u0026nbsp;RFID\u0026nbsp;handheld scanner, you will be able to collect your inventory data more easily and efficiently.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E3.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;Will the radio waves interfere with my equipment?\u201d\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;Answer: Not likely, as all of our\u0026nbsp;RFID\u0026nbsp;tags are passive and will only transmit waves when powered by the reader.
