  <title><![CDATA[AE Student Brandon Makinson Named To ACC Swimming & Diving All-Academician Team]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;The Georgia Tech swimming &amp; diving program had eight student-athletes named the 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic All-Conference Team.&nbsp;<br />To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during the academic career.<br />&nbsp;<br />Makinson, who holds a 3.37 GPA in aerospace engineering, is a three-time honoree to the ACC's Academic All-Conference Team. Makinson joined freshman Andrew Kosic, sophomore Anton Lagerqvist, freshman Elliott Brockelbank, junior Eric Chiu and freshman Nico van Duijn, while seniors Keren Siebner and Jordan Evans were selected on the women's side.<br />&nbsp;<br />Also this season for Tech, aerospace engineering major&nbsp;<a href="http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/hatteberg_heidi00.html">Heidi Hatteberg</a>&nbsp;was honored with an ACC Postgraduate Scholarship, and the Yellow Jackets' men's and women's programs were each recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association as Scholar All America Teams for the Fall of 2011.</p>]]></body>
