{"417761":{"#nid":"417761","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Santosh Hemchandra holds Assistant Professorship at the Indian Institute of Science","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EDr. Santosh Hemchandra graduated with a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in\u0026nbsp;April 2009\u0026nbsp;under the supervision of Prof. Tim Lieuwen.\u0026nbsp; Since\u0026nbsp;February 2012, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India.\u0026nbsp; He also holds a visiting fellowship at the Institute of Aerodynamics at RWTH Aachen in Germany where he was a Post-doctoral researcher 2009 \u2013 2012.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDr. Hemchandra\u2019s work focuses on understanding the fundamental physics of the kinematics of premixed flame fronts in acoustically forced turbulent flows.\u0026nbsp; He has also made contributions to several other studies that elucidate the fundamental physics control of premixed flame response to perturbations in mixture composition and flow velocity. During his post-doc at RWTH Aachen, he helped supervise and direct ongoing work on understanding thermoacoustic instability withing the framework of the SFB686 collaborative research center.\u0026nbsp; Dr. Hemchandra earned his B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras in 2004 and an M.
