Dr. Chakravarty received his Ph.D. from the School of AE in 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Olivier Bauchau.  After graduating, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Mark Costello in the School of AE.  He is currently working as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Associate at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Eglin Air Force Base.  He has published twelve journal articles and several conference papers.  His research interests include computational and experimental mechanics of materials and structures, flight dynamics and control, and aircraft design.

Dr. Chakravarty received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1999, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Tuskegee University in 2003, and another M.S. from the School of AE at Georgia Tech in 2005.
