Hodges\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;has been elected a Fellow of the 134-year-old organization.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHodges\u0027s elevation puts him in an elite cadre among ASME\u0027s 140,172 members, only 3,305 of whom have received \u0022Fellow\u0022 status. His new status will be formally recognized by ASME in the November 2014 edition of the organization\u0027s\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EMechanical Engineering Magazine\u003C\/em\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0022The ASME Fellow is another reflection of Dr. Hodges\u0027s many accomplishments and contributions to our profession. The entire School joins me in congratulating him in this well-deserved honor,\u0022 said AE School Chair Dr. Vigor Yang.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to the ASME\u0026nbsp;Fellow designation, Hodges has been named a Fellow by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Helicopter Society (AHS) and the American Academy of Mechanics (AAM).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EA member of the Georgia Tech School of Aerospace Engineering faculty since 1986, Hodges has published four books and authored more than 340 papers in the fields of rotorcraft dynamics, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, structural mechanics and stability, computational mechanics, and optimal control. He earned his masters and doctorate at Stanford University, and served for 16 years as a research scientist at the U.S. Army Aeroflightdynamics Directorate.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EASME\u0026nbsp;is a professional organization that promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe through continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach.\u003C\/p\u003E","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":"","field_summary_sentence":[{"value":"The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) this week announced that AE professor Dr. Dewey H.
