She continues to coordinate the popular event every year.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/td\u003E\u003C\/tr\u003E\u003C\/tbody\u003E\u003C\/table\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMore than a dozen employers have committed to the Sept. 10 AE Career Fair, which will run 8 a.m. \u2013 noon at the GT Alumni House, 190 North Ave. The event is free, and no reservations are required, but attendees should plan to dress in \u201cbusiness formal\u201d attire and to bring at least 12-15 resumes.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELast year, more than 200 students attended the event, which attracted some of the biggest employers in the field. Lundrigan is still receiving requests from interested employers, but the current list is fairly impressive:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAerospace Systems\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EBorg Warner\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EDelta\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EGulfstream\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EPratt \u0026amp;\u0026nbsp;Whitney\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESafran\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESiemans\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESikorsky\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EUnited Technologies,\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EGTRI\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EGE\u0026nbsp;Aviation\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EHoneywell Aerospace\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELundrigan, 25, helped launch the first AE Career Fair in 2011, as a part of her work with Sigma Gamma Tau, the AE honor society. Despite her grueling schedule as a doctoral student, she has continued to spearhead the effort because she believes deeply in the value of real-world experience.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Ohio native originally came to Georgia Tech to study biomedical engineering. Experience pushed her in a different direction. Twice.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cI was interested in studying prosthetics, but, after a year, I saw that the program was more focused on the bio part than on the mechanics, which is what interested me, so I switched to mechanical engineering,\u201d she said.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cThen, after doing a co-op with Rolls Royce, I realized that all of the work I really wanted to do was in aerospace and the classes were exactly what I wanted. I did three co-ops with Rolls Royce - in research, assembly instrument testing, and fluid systems.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELundrigan says her decision to transfer into aerospace was greeted with some surprise by administrators.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cThey don\u2019t usually have students opting into aerospace during junior year,\u201d she said with a smile. \u201cThat\u2019s usually when people drop.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EUndergraduate and graduate students who cannot attend this event but who want to be considered for job, co-op, or internship openings in one of the participating companies are encouraged to send PDFs of their resumes to\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/em\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022mailto:gtsigmagammatau@gmail.com\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003ESigma Gamma Tau\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u003Cem\u003E, which will distribute them accordingly.
