Projects of all types, theoretical or real, built or unbuilt, are welcome.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EEmerging Voices has a mission to recognize works of high quality at the early stages of one\u0027s career and provide a public forum for its exhibition. The competition rewards emerging professionals who are striving to practice their craft and considering the peculiarities of a specific geographic environment: Atlanta.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EEmerging Voices has established a record of accomplishment among architects in Atlanta as the singular, local competition that identifies a bright new spot on the metropolitan design scene.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nAbout Georgia Tech design instructor Ed Akins II\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nEdwin E. Akins II, AIA, LEED AP is a Project Designer with Smith Dalia Architects in Atlanta. He is also a Design Instructor at the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Implementation Director for the Marietta Street Artery Association (Upper Westside LCI).\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAkins states that his view of architecture, through experience and practice, has been an evolution of the simple idea that what remains after you build is just as important as, if not more important than, what you build.
