The Consortium is a joint project of Architects Foundation, the American Institute of Architects (“AIA”), and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (“ACSA”), (collectively, the “Consortium Partners”) conceived to advance university-led research in the area of design and health. However, under the direction of the AIA’s Design & Health Leadership Group (“DHLG”), the requirements have been modified to promote and accelerate the translation of research into practice. The modifications to the RFQ process will help to ensure that Consortium partners and teams achieve the three goals of the Consortium:

No. 1: Strengthen and expand the knowledge base that informs the connection between design and health by documenting and disseminating peer-reviewed quantitative and qualitative research projects.

No. 2: Develop evidence-based tools for practicing professionals informed by current research.

No. 3: Translate the outcomes of research about the connection between design and health for policymakers and the general public.
