Students can work independently or in teams to develop and present inventions which will be judged by experts. The competitors introduce their inventions in the preliminary round, and the judges\u0027 scores determine who will advance to the quick-pitch semifinal round. Six finalists are then selected to advance to the final round shown live by Georgia Public Broadcasting. The final round prizes include:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EA cash prize of $20,000 for first place and $10,000 for second place.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EA free U.S. patent filing by Georgia Tech\u0027s Office of Technology Licensing, valued at approximately $20,000, for both the first-place and second-place winners.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EA People\u0027s Choice Award of $5,000 selected by online and text voting during the event.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EThe winners of the InVenture Prize will automatically be accepted into the summer cohort of\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/flashpoint.gatech.edu\/\u0022 rel=\u0022nofollow\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EFlashpoint\u003C\/a\u003E, a Georgia Tech business creation and innovation program.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003ERegistration requires you to describe your idea and provide important background information.
