{"471491":{"#nid":"471491","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Task Force Moves Forward in Examining Issues of Campus Inclusivity","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe task force charged by President G.P. \u0022Bud\u0022 Peterson to examine and explore the black student experience at Georgia Tech is moving forward with focus groups, discussions and information gathering.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EComprised of 13 student, faculty, and staff members, the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.news.gatech.edu\/2015\/09\/30\/georgia-tech-task-force-review-african-american-student-experience\u0022\u003EBlack Student Experience Task Force\u003C\/a\u003E will be supporting focus group sessions and individual interviews with Georgia Tech students, faculty, and staff in order to assess and better understand the climate and environment here at Georgia Tech.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cWe are committed to conducting the focus group and individual interviews with the highest degree of professionalism, so we can obtain accurate, well-analyzed findings that will lead to positive change,\u201d said John Stein, vice president of Student Life and Dean of Students.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe goal of the focus groups and interviews is to summarize the student experiences and identify common themes that emerge. The results will inform the task force in its efforts to propose recommendations to ensure a supportive, inclusive campus climate for black students \u2014 and all of the campus community.
